A Few Words About Us
William S. Hettinger
William S. Hettinger, Ph.D., is President of Prosperous Communities. Dr. Hettinger is an internationally known expert on workforce housing solutions for resort communities and community leadership strategies.
Dr. Hettinger has more than twenty years of experience in housing, real estate, and community development. Over the years, he has been a developer of affordable housing; a housing director; an asset manager; a portfolio manager; and a consultant to corporations and nonprofits engaged in real estate, community development, and leadership.
Dr. Hettinger is the founder and head of the Housing Development and Leadership program at Bay Path College.
He earned a Ph.D. in international development from the University of Southern Mississippi, where his research focused on housing and tourism. He also earned an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a bachelor's degree from the University of Buffalo; and is a graduate of the Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma.
